2022
When I first heard about the game engine Unity, I could hardly believe it was possible to just create your own video game with a basic laptop and without any prior knowledge of coding. The core motivation behind this project was not game design but rather teaching myself hard skills in a short time, and thereby gaining insights into new disciplines — without the ambition to master them. With video tutorials as my only guide, I took my first steps in programming, learned how a single misplaced semicolon can bring everything to a standstill and how modular the world and craft of game design are. Within a few weeks, "Traktorghini Canyon Drift" was born — a game in which you manoeuvre a tractor through three different levels while trying not to crash — or lose your mind.
